COLLEGE/ UNVERSITY
BURSARY PROGRAM
A bursary program designed to encourage students from the counties of Gloucester and Restigouche in the province of New Brunswick to further their education at a college or university of their choice.
The Belledune Port Authority values the significance of certified post- secondary education and recognizes the associated costs. This bursary is designed to alleviate some of these costs and to promote certified post- secondary education in a variety of programs.
Bursaries will be paid directly to the post-secondary institution the student is attending in September (50% of the total which equals
$1,250) and January (50% of the total which equals the remaining
$1,250) of each qualifying year. This bursary is not renewable.
AMOUNT: Four (4) bursaries valued at $2,500 each, awarded to four individuals per calendar year.
ELIGIBILITY:
-
Students must be from one of the following regions: Chaleur, Restigouche, or the Acadian Peninsula. They must be attending a high school or have completed high school (or an equivalent) within the past eighteen (18) months.
-
Students must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary program at a college or university of their choice.
-
Students must submit the attached application form (Appendix A) and a copy of the letter of acceptance from a college or university to be considered for this bursary.
-
Should there be more than four (4) eligible applicants in any given year, a draw will be held to award the four (4) bursaries.
