First Ship of 2015 at the Port of Belledune
Belledune NB -The Belledune Port Authority (BPA) officially greeted Captain Ivan Zalaba, Master of the M.V. “Baldock”, the first ship to lay anchor at the Port of Belledune in 2015.
The M.V. “Baldock” is registered in Marshall Island, Majuro and her last port of call before arriving in Belledune was Peurto Bolivar, Columbia. The vessel’s agent is Atship Services Ltd., represented by Mr. Ron Chipman. The M.V. “Baldock” docked at the Port of Belledune the evening of January 8th, 2015, where the vessel is currently unloading approximately 64,000 MT of coal. The next stop for the M.V. “Baldock” will be at Auld’s Cove Harbour in Nova Scotia.
Ms. Jenna MacDonald, Director of Marketing of the BPA, presented Ivan Zalaba with a commemorative gift at the Belledune Port Authority’s Administrative offices.
Ms. MacDonald also took the opportunity to welcome the Captain to the Port of Belledune as well as thank the staff and all port partners for their continuous support and further stated that: “In 2014, the BPA Board of Directors adopted a business plan that maps out the future course of action for the port. We believe this plan will ensure continued growth of volume and traffic that will attract new business ventures, which will provide a measure of prosperity and employment to northern New Brunswick.“
