Belledune Port Authority Family Picnic is a Great Success!

BELLEDUNE, NB – The Belledune Port Authority (BPA) hosted a Family Picnic that followed a naming ceremony for the “Rayburn Doucett Terminal” at the Port of Belledune on Saturday July 28th, 2012.

Families and friends from all parts of northern New Brunswick participated in the fun-filled day along with the BPA staff. The complimentary hot dogs, treats and activities were a huge success and were enjoyed by all that attended!

Children of all ages enjoyed the pirate themes activities, games and music provided by Magician Don Bernard. In addition, face painting, giant twister, washer toss and port bus tours were offered as entertainment by BPA staff.

During the three (3) hour event more than 250 people had the opportunity to visit the Port of Belledune marine terminals by bus while also enjoying the over 800 hot dogs provided by the BPA and served by the Super-Village Trailblazer Snow mobile Club.

“The BPA participates in many activities throughout the region on a continuous basis, however organizing and participating in a Port Family Picnic is one of our favourite events,” said Jenna MacDonald, BPA Director of Marketing, “families are the most important people in our lives and the reason the BPA staff works tirelessly to ensure economic and port growth in our region. It was an absolute pleasure to spend the day with people from the region and share a great day at the Port.”

The Belledune Port Authority staff wishes to thank the Super-Village Trailblazer Snow Mobile Club and the Belledune Volunteer Fire Department for volunteering their time as well as local businesses such as Hilliard’s Variety and Foodland for their help and cooperation in the planning of this event. Lastly, and most importantly, thank you to all of the friends and families for coming to see the Port and have fun at the Port Family Picnic! – 30 –
