Belledune, NB – Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEOs for 2011 were announced on May 18th at the World Trade & Convention Centre in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Approximately 780 people joined the Magazine in its 13th annual salute at this auspicious occasion.
Mr. Rayburn Doucett, President & CEO of the Belledune Port Authority (BPA) has once again, for the third year in a row, received this prestigious award in recognition for excellence in corporate leadership at the award ceremony.
“This ‘hat-trick’ is due to the support, hard work and dedication of our team”, stated Mr. Doucett, “This accomplishment would not have been possible without the dedicated people of the BPA. I credit our success to the encompassing knowledge and hard work our Board of Directors and Staff continuously provide.”
Mr. Doucett describes the overall success of the port as « a team effort » to create an increasingly growing and profitable facility. “The Port of Belledune is nearing completion of its $75M infrastructure projects and I am happy to report that the projects will be completed on time and on budget”.
The Top 50 CEOs must be the CEO (or hold equivalent title) of a company or organization whose head office is in Atlantic Canada, or who is in charge of a provincial/regional head office that has significant decision-making and organizational autonomy. Nominees are judged on their proven managerial ability, reaction to challenging situations, leadership philosophies, organizational growth over a three-year period, and commitment to industry and community development.
